Football Frustration

It has been a frustrating weekend for Sunderland fans again this week! I shouldn't really have been expecting us to beat Aston Villa, although we did go 1-0 up after 10 minutes thanks to Danny Collins. In the end though we lost 1-2. Villa's first goal by James Milner was a hand ball and goal number 2 was a penalty scored by Gareth Barry when the foul was not even commited in the area!

But that was not the most frustrating thing about the day.

Newcastle also lost and I am once again left wondering why we can't win when Newcastle lose. They got hammered 0-3 by Blackburn and after the game Joe Kinnear launched into a rant against former managers at the club blaming them for the clubs league position. I wonder who he blames for the arguments that broke out amongst his players after the game? Fabio Cappello was at Ewood park too so I wouldn't expect an England recall for Michael Owen at any point in the near future. I would imagine your more likely to see Jeremy Clarkson parading around Wembley against Slovakia in March.

In other matches of note, Manchester United and Chelsea scored late winners with Arsenal beating a Hull City team who are slipping down the table and after there impressive start find themselves only 6 points of the relegation zone.

Tomorrow Liverpool can go above United if they beat Everton at Anfield and during the week the footballing world could be plunged into chaos with the possible transfer of Kaka moving to Manchester City for a reported £100m with wages of half a million pounds a week.
