Lakeland Healing Revival - Florida

April the 2nd 2008, the day Lakeland started seeing a revival.

Or did they?

On one particular night CBN news reported that 8 people left there wheelchairs on one night alone. Todd Bently, one of the leaders of the church where all this started had this to say about his churches impact:

"We're in 214 nations a night. Potential audience of 400 million. And 10 hours a day we're literally around the world, people are seeing what's happening here in Florida," Bentley said.
That's because God TV made the unprecedented -- and extremely expensive -- decision to pre-empt all their primetime programming and broadcast the Lakeland meetings every night. Thousands more are watching on the website for the church where the revival ignited. It's called, appropriately enough, Ignited Church.
"550,000 different computers have logged into the webcast. That's incredible," said Ignited's senior pastor Stephen Strader.

And those watching get to see some pretty special miracles.

Supposedly up to 70,000 people are attending each event and it will be open for another couple of weeks. This seems amazing but is it biblical?

One man is not so sure.

Bob Gomeringer, a Lakeland retiree, works part time parking cars at Lakeland Center events and finds the services unsettling. One night he found a young man lying prostrate on the ground and when he attempted to help his friend claimed that he should be left alone as he is "full of the spirit".

He watches ministry workers carry in buckets "to rake in all the money" during offerings.
What concerns Gomeringer most are the young people, many of whom appear to be in a "trancelike state" when they come out of the arena, he said.
"They just don't look or act right," he said.

Gomeringer has attended Methodist churches for more than 50 years and said what's happening in Lakeland is quite different from the Christian faith he's known throughout his life. "It's not prayerful or private. This is extremism," Gomeringer said.

"Bam"

Does this freak anybody out? Or is it just me?

Is this just a scam to make money or is this for real?

I have had issues with the spirit making you faint for a while, but i had one bad experience and I dont want to be biased but is this biblical?

I want to know what peope think as I don't wantto throw the baby out with the bath water, if this is real then we should be embracing it. But if it is fake then it is surely demonic.

You decide!

The revival closes in a few days and you can donate money through the Ignite church website. I have made up my mind!
